founded in 1923, the Bank für
Sozialwirtschaft is a bank specialising in the social and health
sectors. As a bank with a general vocation, it offers loans and
credits, investments and payment transactions. However; it is
particularly geared towards organisations and institutions in
the cooperative, mutual and non-profit sectors. Furthermore, the
BFS offers advice on all questions relating to banking and/or
management and financing, focusing in particular on the European
dimension.
the Bank für Sozialwirtschaft
is a joint-stock company. Its principal shareholders are the six
major independent charitable organisations in Germany: the Workers
Welfare Association of Germany, the German Red Cross, the Caritas
Organisation Germany, the Social Welfare Organisation of the Protestant
Church in Germany, the German Joint Welfare Association and the
Israelite Central Welfare Office.
