International Solidarity For Development And Investment
sIDI is a limited company which
was created in 1983 by the CCFD (Catholic Committee for Development
and against Hunger) to extend and diversify her action in the economic
field. SIDI has been active in the field of social finance since
then.
sIDI is an organisation specialised
in offering support, both financial and technical, to local financial
institutions and organisations which give loans to micro enterprises
and farmers. The goal is to develop and to promote long-term economical
initiatives. In doing this, they want to contribute to a more socially
based economy, important in the perspective of sustainable development.
the partners of SIDI are very
diversified, both in perspective of their legal form or of their
field of operation – local organisations, financial NGO’s,
companies, micro-credit institutions, , financial cooperatives,
ethical banks. They all respond to the financial needs of SME’s
in developing countries, viable projects, but which have difficulties
in obtaining loans, capital and guaranties by the commercial banks.
